Fly with Skytrax Airline of the Year 2011


Qatar Airways was awarded “Airline of the Year 2011” at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards in 2011 for its outstanding in-flight product and operational excellence. The airline was chosen as number one from among more than 200 international airlines, by the airline’s most important audience – its customers. More than 18 million passengers worldwide were polled during the annual Skytrax awards.

> the “Best Middle East Airline” for the sixth consecutive year

> the “Best First Class Lounge” for its Premium Terminal at the carrier’s Doha hub – a facility for exclusive use by Qatar Airways’ First and Business Class passengers.

Heathrow Terminal 4 Premium Lounge Opened 26 January 2012


Qatar Airways has now opened its new Premium Lounge at London Heathrow, reinforcing the importance of one of the airline’s busiest routes. The Premium Lounge at Terminal 4 is the airline’s first dedicated facility for First and Business Class passengers outside its Doha hub. The carrier currently operates the award-winning Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport, exclusively for use by passengers travelling in First or Business Class.

Qatar Airways Premium Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4Designed to resemble a boutique hotel or private member’s club rather than a conventional airport lounge, the new Qatar Airways Premium Lounge at Heathrow has been created to provide the ultimate in luxury and Five-Star service.

Qatar Airways recruited lounge staff from Five Star hotels and restaurants to work in the theatre-style Global Brasserie kitchen and innovative Delicatessen.

The lounge also includes private shower facilities, with heated floors and mirrors, hotel-style towels and luxury brand toiletries and amenities.

Business and leisure travellers can stay connected with free Wi-Fi throughout the lounge, discreet power sockets at every seat and a business centre that includes PCs and printers.

Qatar Airways Country Manager UK & Ireland Richard Oliver said “We are pleased to be able to offer our First and Business Class passengers the chance to experience our award-winning 5-Star product and service on the ground, even before they board their flight.”

New Routes for 2012


Qatar AirwaysQatar Airways 2012 route expansion programme will focus on Australia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East with a raft of new destinations set to join the airline’s rapidly-growing global network.

Qatar Airways launches flights to Perth in Australia from July 2012, Gassim in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and three East African cities - Zanzibar, Kigali and Mombasa, in Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya, respectively. The European growth drive continues with the addition of Helsinki and Zagreb.

Qatar Airways To Begin 5th Daily London Heathrow Flight


Qatar Airways is to introduce a fifth daily flight between London Heathrow and Doha for the Northern Summer schedules starting on 26th March 2012.
