The New "Magnifica"

Alitalia's new "Magnifica" business class has been completely redesigned with regard to seats, catering and service and is at the top of its category globally:

> New leather seats, "full flat" which extend into a fully flat bed position, with a massage function and an individual 15.4-inch screen with an individual "privacy" device which allows only the passenger occupying the seat to view.

> Provision of 1-2-1 seats designed for those travelling individually or in pairs, on "honeymoon" seats.

> 12 audio channels and over 40 films available in up to 8 different languages and the possibility to download multimedia contents with a USB device.

The Best of Made in Italy

The short and medium haul business class is the Ottima Class. Passengers who choose to fly Ottima can enjoy access to exclusive VIP lounges, spacious and comfortable seats and a delectable range of Italian home-cooked style food.

Economy Class passengers benefit from comfortable leather seats, complimentary snacks and drinks and in-flight entertainment.

For the second year in a row Alitalia has won the award of “Best Airline Cuisine” for the quality of its on-board menus

Alitalia, once again, has been recognized as the best airline in the world for the quality of its on board meals. The prize of “Best Airline Cuisine,” has been awarded by the American magazine Global Traveller, which has been conducting research on the exceptional achievements of the travel and tourism industry for 8 years.

More than 36,000 frequent flyers participated in the 2011 GT Tested Reader Survey, organized by Global Traveller. This recognition rewards Alitalia’s efforts in renovating the on board dining service, through offering the outstanding wine and food specialties of their country and accessories designed by some of the most famous Made in Italy brands.

The menus offered in Magnifica Business Class are inspired by the traditions of the Italian regions and are achieved in collaboration with ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine, directed by Gualtiero Marchesi. The menus are served with wines selected in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association.

The project of offering wine, food and products reflecting the best of Made in Italy on board their flights also stands at the base of the re-launch of “Ottima”, the Business Class on Alitalia medium-haul flights and of “Classica” class, the Economy Class on Alitalia long-haul flights.
